Travel Requirements in Europe
As summer has fully bloomed, and vaccines have been swarming the country, we are finally able to start booking our European adventures!
Whether you are looking to dance underneath the midnight sky in Paris, or watch the sunset from a Santorini rooftop, or even take a stroll in Copenhagen while eating a Smørrebrød, I listed everything you need to know about European countries open to US travelers and all their entry requirements!

Albania:
The Albanian border does not require any proof of testing or vaccination. They do not have any quarantine orders in place.
Armenia:
For travel to Armenia American citizens need to show proof of a negative covid-19 test that has been taken at least 72 hour before arrival. Under certain circumstances quarantine will be required. For more information click here.
Belarus:
The Belarus border requires American citizens to both quarantine and show proof of negative covid-19 test that is less than 72 hours during arrival.
Bosnia:
To enter Bosnia, American citizens need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test that has been taken 48 hours before arrival. The Bosnien border does not require any
Bulgaria:
American citizens who are fully vaccinated, or recently recovered for Covid-19, and can show proof of it do not need to show a negative covid-19 test. For people who are not, a negative Covid-19 test is required to enter the border.
Croatia:
American citizens who are not fully vaccinated or recently recovered from Covid- 19 have to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken at least 72 hours before arrival. People who are fully vaccinated or recently recovered from Covid-19 only need to show proof of vaccination and recovery papers. All American Citizens need to provide evidence of paid accommodation upon entry.
Cyprus:
Testing before departure and testing once landed, in the airport, is required for entry. Visitors also need to have an approved Cyprus Flight Pass.
Denmark:
Visitors need to be either fully vaccinated in order to enter the country or provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken no longer than 72 hours before arrival. The last vaccination does have to have happened at least 14 days prior to entry. No additional testing or quarantine required.
France:
The border of France allows either visitors with proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival or visitors who are fully vaccinated to enter.
Georgia:
Visitors of Georgia are required to show a negative Covid-19 test, unless being fully vaccinated.
Greece:
In order to enter Greece visitors have to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test. Visitors who have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entry are exempt to the test. All visitors have to complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to entering the country.
Iceland:
Fully vaccinated visitors or visitors with proof of recovery from Covid-19 are allowed to enter the country. All visitors still need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test and quarantine. All visitors need to register before entering the country, you can do it here.
Ireland:
The irish border has discouraged leisure travel, but it is not forbidden. Fully vaccinated visitors do not need to quarantine. Unvaccinated visitors need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test and quarantine for 14 days upon entry.
Italy:
Visitors to Italy need to complete a self-declaration form and present either a negative Covid-19 test upon entry or vaccination proof that shows the visitor completed their vaccination at least 14 days before arrival.
Kosovo:
Visitors to Kosovo do not need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test. However, visitors need to be quarantined for at least 7 days. Kosovo has strict everyday curfews. The curfew starts at 10:30 PM and ends at 5:00 AM.
Malta:
Malta has different rules depending on the state you come from. Some states are deemed eligible for entry with just proof of being fully vaccinated or showing of a negative Covid-19 tes while others aren’t allowed to enter unless they quarantine at a corridor country for at least 14 days.. Moldova:
Visitors who are fully vaccinated are allowed to enter the country without a negative Covid-19 test. Unvaccinated visitors need to show proof of a negative covid-19 test taken at least 72 hours before arrival.
Montenegro:
In order to enter Montenegro, American visitors need to either show proof of being fully vaccinated or proof of a negative Covid-19 test. People who are immune against Covid-19 thanks to previous Covid-19 illness can show proof of that.
North Macedonia:
North Macedonia has no testing or quarantine requirements.
Portugal:
Visitors of Portugal need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test, there might be possible quarantine requirements. The rules of entry updates every two weeks, for more information click here.
Romania:
There is no testing required for visitors when entering Romania. 14 days of Quarantine is required unless visitors have proof of being fully vaccinated or proof of recent recovery from Covid-19.
Serbia:
In order to enter Serbia, visitors need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test that is no older than 48 hours upon arrival or show proof of being fully vaccinated.
Spain:
Spain is fully open for American visitors if they are flying straight from the US to Spain. All visitors need to fill out a health questionnaire prior to arrival. You can find the health questionnaire here.
Switzerland:
Visitors need to be fully vaccinated in order to enter Switzerland. There is no quarantine or testing required to enter the country. All visitors need to fill out an entry form, click here to see it.
Turkey:
The turkish border requires visitors to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hours prior to arrival. No quarantine is necessary. All visitors need to fill out a travel entry form upon arrival.
Ukraine:
In order to enter Ukraine, visitors need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hours prior to arrival. Visitors also need to show proof of adequate health insurance before entering the country.
United Kingdom:
The United Kingdom highly discourages leisure travel, but it is not forbidden. In order to be granted entry, visitors need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test. There are also quarantine requirements in place. Rules vary between England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland. To find out more, click here.
